The Power of Private Time

If you experience your life as a constant barrage of ‘must-do’s’ and demands set by other people – teachers, colleagues, family members, the tax-man or the inbox of your emails – it’s time to stop and change things. You don’t have to feel trapped. A small change can make a huge difference in how you feel.

Think about how much private time you have in a day or even a week; how much time  when you do not feel accountable to others. Whether that means floating around in your pyjama’s for a few hours without worrying about how productive you’ve been, being outdoors and out of reach of the tyranny of your smartphone or reading a book, this time spent alone is a key ingredient to taking back control. Give it a go. State your intention, block out the private time in your diary and notice the ripples of change…
