Here is a little of my story...

I was born in Brazil, grew up in Africa and The Netherlands and have been living in the UK for 40 years. I studied History of Art, went on to work in BBC TV production and later moved into education.

My increasing interest in the direct link between emotion and learning set me on a path of discovery that led to the establishment of my own coaching, therapy and training practice in 1997.

I am hugely inspired and constantly humbled by the diversity of my clientele. My particular interest is in creative, intelligent people struggling with dyslexia, AD(H)D and other forms of right brain dominance. I trained practitioners in the Davis® Method for correcting dyslexia - both in the UK and worldwide - for 15 years, and have 25 years of experience working with neurodiversity.

The revolutionary Human Givens approach to mental wellbeing gave me the tools to help people suffering with stress, depression and all forms of anxiety disorders, to reconnect with their highest potential. It is also a privilege to be involved in the training, mentoring and supervision of some of the growing number of human givens practitioners, both in the UK and Holland.

In 2008 I co-founded Human Givens Nederland with Sandra van Nispen. I served on the board of directors of the Human Givens Institute in the UK and taught the Human Givens Diploma.

In 2017 I trained with Kristin Neff PhD and Chris Germer PhD as a teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion at the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion in the U.S. I teach the practice to staff in the NHS and as an Associate of Mindfulness at Work.

In 2017 I also co-founded Executive Resilience Coaching with Cathy Harris. We offer bespoke resilience training programmes and have an expertise in neurodiversity.

In recent years my coach-counseling work has become much enriched by the integration of self-compassion - an empirically supported resource to wellbeing - and somatic practices from the field of energy psychology. Both disciplines tap into powerful human resources, instrumental in developing resilience.

I derive enormous optimism from the fact that my therapy and coaching practice often effects major and rapid breakthroughs in the personal development of my clients – both adults and children. I believe that once we learn to work with our innate resources, the possibilities for sustainable change are infinite.

My husband and I live with our dogs near Tenterden in beautiful Kent. I am a keen walker, gardener and yoga practitioner and love the wide open countryside around me.

Please contact me if I can be of service to you on your journey towards developing longterm wellbeing.

If you are interested in keeping in touch and learning about emotional health and the Creative Mind, please sign up here to hear from me at the beginning of every month.

With warm regards,
